Choosing between the Gigabyte Aero 16 and the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro depends on your priorities. The Gigabyte Aero 16 offers an OLED display with higher resolution and color accuracy for creative tasks like video editing or graphics work. However, the Lenovo Legion has a higher refresh rate display, which is better for gaming. The Aero 16 has a larger battery that provides longer battery life but the Legion’s newer CPU and GPU may give you better performance for gaming and machine learning tasks. Both are similar in weight, making them moderately portable, and they are both suitable for gaming. If price is a concern, the Lenovo is often slightly less expensive. Give Feedback

Tom's Hardware

Isaac Rouse | May 2022
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."

PCMag

Brian Westover | August 2023
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
