If you need a laptop with a higher resolution and color accuracy for tasks like photo editing, the Gigabyte Aero 16 with its OLED display offers a rich visual experience and a slightly better battery life compared to the Lenovo Legion 5 17", which may be important if you are often on the go. However, the Lenovo comes with a higher refresh rate screen, which can be more appealing for gaming where screen fluidity is key. While both laptops have similar processing power and are equipped with dedicated graphics for demanding software applications, the Lenovo is heavier and has a bulkier power brick, making it less portable than the Gigabyte Aero. Both laptops have a backlit keyboard, but the Lenovo has the additional benefit of a number pad if that's a priority for data entry or gaming. If portability, screen quality, and battery life are your top priorities, the Gigabyte Aero may suit you better, whereas if you prefer gaming performance and a number pad, then the Lenovo Legion might be the better choice. The Gigabyte Aero 16 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion 5 17" is good.
The Gigabyte Aero 16 outshines in its OLED screen quality with higher resolutions and color accuracy, more beneficial for engineering and design applications where precision is crucial, along with a strong combination of CPU, RAM, and a better GPU, enhancing performance for demanding tasks. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion 5 17" offers a larger screen and robust performance for engineering tasks at a likely lower price point, but it falls short on screen fidelity and is less portable, making it less ideal for those valuing high-resolution displays and mobility.

The Gigabyte Aero 16 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 17" for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
If you prioritize a vivid and sharp display for everyday tasks and professional design work, the Gigabyte Aero 16 offers an excellent experience due to its high resolution and wide color gamut coverage, making your visuals crisp and colors accurate. However, for gaming or 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the Aero 16 falls short because it lacks a high refresh rate. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion 5 17" provides a balanced display for general and engineering use with respectable color quality and resolution, but like the Aero, its lower refresh rate isn't ideal for fast-paced gaming or fluid 3D modeling.

How the Gigabyte Aero 16 and the Lenovo Legion 5 17" compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 17 is a current-gen 17-inch gaming laptop and equipped with the latest AMD CPU and a powerful GPU, that manages to reach its full potential. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a very good choice for this laptop and able to maintain its performance level for long periods of time. Our test model only falls behind consistently in a direct comparison with its competitors that are often equipped with eight cores and 16 threads. Despite this, the Legion 5 17 leaves an excellent impression and is almost able to keep up with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU in synthetic benchmarks."
