Considering the Gigabyte A5 and Lenovo Legion 5i Pro, you'll get a lower price and potentially better portability with the Gigabyte A5, although it offers somewhat less computational power and a lower-quality display compared to the Lenovo. The Legion 5i Pro, while more expensive, provides significantly higher performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, or other engineering tasks, along with a higher resolution and quality display. Both have sufficient RAM and storage for general use, but if you plan to do intensive gaming or require an excellent display for creative work, the Lenovo offers better capabilities at the expense of weight and battery life. NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | September 2022
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."

PCMag

Brian Westover | August 2023
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
