If you prioritize battery life and portability, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is more lightweight and has longer battery life, making it well-suited for travel and on-the-go use. As it's equipped with an Intel Iris Xe GPU, it will handle general use and office workflows effectively but may not be optimal for intensive gaming or demanding applications like 3D rendering or machine learning. Conversely, the Gigabyte A5, with its AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, is better for gaming and tasks that require more graphical power, but it is bulkier and has shorter battery life. Both have similar storage and memory, with the Gigabyte offering a slightly larger screen and higher refresh rate, which enhances gaming and video experience, at the expense of a heavier build and additional thickness. The Gigabyte A5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i is only fair.
The Gigabyte A5, equipped with a higher-performing Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and a screen that refreshes 144 times per second, provides a better gaming and 3D experience compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i, which uses an Intel Iris Xe GPU and has a lower screen refresh rate of 60 times per second. While both laptops offer similar CPU capabilities and screen quality, the GPU and screen refresh rate differences significantly favor the Gigabyte A5 for these specific tasks.

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
The Gigabyte A5 offers a clear and sharp display for general tasks and is suitable for engineering work with its color coverage, but its slower refresh rate makes it less ideal for gaming where fast-paced visuals are critical. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i also provides a crisp image and supports a wide range of colors for creative professionals, yet for gaming, its refresh rate may not keep up with the demands of high-speed action. Both models deliver in everyday performance and in fields requiring accurate color representation, but serious gamers might find their screens lacking the smoothness offered by higher refresh rate displays.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
