The Gigabyte A5 is more affordable, but the Aorus 5 has higher performance, especially noticeable in tasks like gaming or engineering software due to its more powerful CPU and GPU. You'd benefit from the Aorus 5's performance if you're involved in intensive activities, but if you aim for general use and prefer to save money, the A5 could serve you well. The Aorus 5 also has a faster refresh rate display, which could be advantageous for gaming. Both have similar size displays and resolution, but the Aorus 5 offers an RGB keyboard and better overall features, at the expense of being slightly bulkier and potentially having lower battery life due to its higher-end components. The Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
Both the Gigabyte A5 and the Aorus 5 have displays suitable for general use and engineering tasks due to their decent resolution and brightness, ensuring that text and images look clear and the screen remains visible even in well-lit environments. Their color gamut coverage is adequate for most engineering and design work, allowing for reasonably accurate color representation which is essential for those fields. However, since both models have screens with lower refresh rates, fast-paced visuals in gaming and 3D applications may not appear as smooth, which can detract from the experience in those use cases.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the Gigabyte Aorus 5 compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
