The Gigabyte A5 is a more affordable option with a solid build and decent performance for general use and gaming, featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics. It is lighter and offers slightly better battery life, making it easier to carry around. The Aorus 17G, while costlier, steps up performance with an Intel i7 processor and RTX 3070 graphics, better suited for heavy tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software. The Aorus has a larger screen and higher refresh rate, which can enhance gaming and video viewing experiences, but it's heavier and has a bit shorter battery life, affecting portability. Both have similar storage and RAM, but for demanding tasks or the best gaming experience, the Aorus 17G is the superior choice; for everyday use and lighter gaming, the A5 offers good value. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
If you prioritize a vibrant display and detailed visuals for tasks like browsing or document editing, both the Gigabyte A5 and Aorus 17G have screens with the resolution and brightness suitable for everyday activities. When engaging in engineering and design, where color accuracy is crucial for precise work, these laptops provide adequate color ranges to ensure your designs appear as intended. However, for high-speed gaming or 3D rendering, the lower refresh rates on these laptops may lead to less fluid motion, which is less ideal when frame rate is key to the experience.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
