Given your interest in cost, the Gateway 15.6" laptop offers a more wallet-friendly option while still providing solid performance through its Intel i5 processor and ample memory for general use. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Book3 360, despite its higher price point, comes with a newer Intel i7 processor that may suit more demanding tasks like 3D work or engineering better, plus it has an OLED screen for superior visual quality and is lighter and thinner, enhancing portability. The Samsung also has a longer battery life and the versatility of a 2-in-1 design, allowing it to double as a tablet. If budget is a constraint and your tasks are mainly general use, the Gateway could suffice; however, if you intend to use the laptop for more intensive applications and value display quality and form factor, investing in the Samsung might be worthwhile. How the Gateway 15.6" and the Samsung Galaxy Book3 360 compare to other laptops
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
"The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 360 isn’t a laptop that the Korean manufacturer has shouted from the rooftops about, and it seems to have gotten little attention from anywhere. But, it is absolutely a laptop worth paying attention to. Compared to higher-priced devices, like the Dell XPS 13 (2022) and Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED (2023), it manages to offer a similar day-to-day experience despite the price difference. It’s really hard to justify the extra cash unless a boosted display is a requirement of yours."
