The Gateway 15.6" is often significantly less expensive than the Lenovo Flex 5 14 and offers a larger screen but lacks a touchscreen and has a lower resolution. The Lenovo Flex 5 14, despite being often significantly more expensive, has a higher screen resolution, a touchscreen, and is more portable due to its smaller size and lighter weight. The Lenovo also boasts better battery life and higher build quality, but the Gateway comes with more available RAM and storage slots, allowing for future upgrades. If portability, battery life, and touchscreen are priorities, go for the Lenovo. Prefer the Gateway for a larger display, upgradeability, and a more wallet-friendly price. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Flex 5 14 has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Gateway 15.6" and Lenovo Flex 5 14 offer screen quality that aligns with daily activities like browsing and watching videos, but their resolution or brightness might not stand out for sharper image quality or outdoor use. In engineering and design, the screens on these laptops may not fully meet the demands for color accuracy and range, which are crucial for detailed visual work. For gaming and 3D applications, their displays may not provide the smooth visuals required by high-refresh-rate experiences, potentially leading to less fluid motion during fast-paced scenes.

The Lenovo Flex 5 14 and Gateway 15.6" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Gateway 15.6" and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 are both considered fair for gaming and 3D because their integrated graphics units, which are essential for these tasks, offer moderate performance suitable for less demanding games and 3D applications. However, their 60Hz screen refresh rates are at the base level for gaming, and while their CPUs are competent and their screen qualities are decent, they don't excel in the ways dedicated gaming laptops would, particularly in rendering more complex graphics quickly and vividly.

How the Gateway 15.6" and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 compare to other laptops
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
"The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops. It's a lot of raw processing power for what is supposed to be a budget 14-inch convertible. If your daily workloads can benefit from extra multi-thread CPU performance, then look no further than the inexpensive AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14. For regular on-the-road browsing or video streaming, however, a slimmer and lighter 10th gen Core Yoga, Spectre, or XPS would be a more balanced option."
