The Lenovo Flex 5 14 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, content creation, and software development.
When considering the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 for general use, both laptops have screens that meet the basic requirements with decent resolution and brightness, but won't stand out for clarity or color reproduction. For engineering and design work, where color accuracy is key, their coverage of professional color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB is limited, making them less ideal for precise visual tasks. In the realm of gaming and 3D applications, the lack of high refresh rates on both models means motion won't be as smooth, and while the resolution and panel type are acceptable, they won't provide the best experience for fast-paced or visually intensive tasks.

The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 are considered fair for gaming and 3D because they both have integrated graphics and common 60Hz refresh rates, which are sufficient for casual or less demanding games but may not provide the smoothest experience for fast-paced or graphic-intensive titles. While the Lenovo has a more powerful CPU, which helps in gaming and 3D applications, both laptops have similar screen quality and are not built specifically for high-end gaming, thus they offer an average gaming performance.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops. It's a lot of raw processing power for what is supposed to be a budget 14-inch convertible. If your daily workloads can benefit from extra multi-thread CPU performance, then look no further than the inexpensive AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14. For regular on-the-road browsing or video streaming, however, a slimmer and lighter 10th gen Core Yoga, Spectre, or XPS would be a more balanced option."
