If you prioritize performance and multitasking capabilities, the Gateway 15.6" laptop with more RAM and a higher-tier processor may serve you better, especially for more intensive tasks. However, if budget is a concern and your usage is more basic, such as web browsing, office applications, and media consumption, the HP 15" laptop may be sufficient and will cost less. While both have similar screen sizes and types, be aware that the Gateway is heavier, which can impact portability. Neither laptop is designed for intensive gaming, but the Gateway’s better specifications give it an edge in more demanding applications. Give Feedback

The Gateway 15.6" has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for content creation, while the HP 15" Laptop has a better screen for engineering and design.
For general use, both the Gateway and HP laptops have screens that provide adequate clarity, brightness, and color but may not be as crisp or vivid as higher-end models, leading to just a fair rating. In engineering and design work, professionals require accurate color reproduction which these laptops offer to an extent, but they might not cover the wider color gamuts that premium screens do, affecting the quality rating. However, when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these laptops can hinder the smoothness and responsiveness critical to these tasks, making their screen quality rated poor in this context.

Furthermore, both have a standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz, which is suitable for casual gaming but may not provide the smoothest experience in fast-paced games or high-end 3D applications that benefit from higher refresh rates.

How the Gateway 15.6" and the HP 15" Laptop compare to other laptops
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
