If portability and lower cost are your top priorities, the Gateway 11.6" is a suitable option, as it's lighter and significantly cheaper. However, it has a smaller, lower resolution screen and less powerful components, making it good for basic tasks like browsing and word processing. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X, while more expensive, offers a much more powerful processor and graphics card, a larger, higher resolution screen with a faster refresh rate, and additional features like a higher number of ports, RGB keyboard, and better cooling system, making it ideal for gaming, video editing, and other intensive applications. The Aorus 15X is heavier and will not be as easy to carry around. Choose based on whether you value performance for demanding tasks or portability and affordability for basic computing needs. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for engineering and design, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The Gateway 11.6" has a less powerful Celeron processor, minimal RAM, and basic graphics, which are inadequate for demanding engineering and design tasks, and it also features a lower resolution screen that hinders detailed work; whereas, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X offers a high-performance i9 processor, substantial RAM, and advanced graphics suited for these tasks along with a high-quality screen that provides sharp visuals necessary for precision work. While the Gateway is lightweight and highly portable, the Gigabyte's superior keyboard and thermal management make it a better choice despite being heavier and potentially louder under load.

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Gateway 11.6" may have inadequate resolution and brightness, which are crucial for clarity and visibility across various lighting conditions, hampering its performance for general use, engineering, and gaming. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X offers superior resolution and brightness, benefiting general and engineering uses with crisp image quality and vivid color representation, which is vital for precision in design work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, despite having a good panel and resolution, the Aorus 15X's lower refresh rate compared to specialized gaming laptops means it may not provide as smooth motion for fast-paced visuals.

"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
