If performance is essential, especially for tasks like 3D design, machine learning, or gaming, investing in the Framework Laptop 13 (2023) would provide a more robust experience. On the other hand, if your focus is on basic tasks like web browsing, office applications, and portability with lower financial investment, the HP Stream 14" is a lightweight and less expensive option, though it may struggle with more demanding applications. The Framework also offers easier upgrades and repairs, extending its lifespan, whereas the HP Stream might be less future-proof. The Framework's battery life is typically superior, making it better for long work sessions away from power outlets. Give Feedback

The Framework Laptop 13 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Framework Laptop 13 offers a higher resolution display with better brightness, making it sharp and vibrant for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work but falls short for 3D applications due to its standard refresh rate. The HP Stream 14", with a lower resolution and dimmer screen, provides a less crisp and less bright viewing experience, making it less ideal for any professional or visually-intensive tasks. While the Framework covers a broader color spectrum necessary for accurate design work, its lower refresh rate isn't optimized for gaming, where the HP Stream also lags due to its basic display specifications.

"If you’re thinking of investing in your first Framework, now is the time. The kinks and rough edges have all been smoothed out and this is a very nice machine with a bright, upgradable future. The only reason I can think of to wait is the AMD model, which I’ll be sure to test as soon as I can get my hands on one."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
