Choosing between the Dell XPS 13 and the Razer Blade 15 comes down to your priorities. The Dell XPS 13 is less expensive, lighter, and has a longer battery life, making it ideal for general use and great for carrying around. Its screen is smaller, and although it has a high-quality display, it's not as sharp or as good for fast motion as the Razer Blade 15, which affects tasks like 3D rendering. The Razer Blade 15, on the other hand, is more costly but offers superior performance with a better GPU, making it well-suited for gaming, engineering, and 3D/machine learning tasks; however, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, affecting portability. The Razer Blade 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Dell XPS 13 is good.
The Dell XPS 13's less powerful CPU and integrated GPU make it less suited for demanding engineering and design tasks than the Razer Blade 15, which boasts a more robust CPU and a high-end discrete GPU, crucial for intensive 3D and machine learning applications. While the XPS 13 offers superior portability and excellent build quality, the Blade 15, despite being heavier and less portable, provides a higher screen resolution and quality, making it a stronger choice for detailed design work.

The Razer Blade 15 has a better screen than the Dell XPS 13 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Dell XPS 13 offers a balance with its high-resolution display and brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work, but its standard refresh rate limits the experience for 3D applications and gaming. The Razer Blade 15 boasts a similar high-resolution and bright screen, excelling in color accuracy for engineering and design due to its wide color gamuts, but, like the Dell, the refresh rate isn't optimized for the high frame rates preferred in gaming and 3D environments. Therefore, both laptops cater well to productivity and professional creative work, but gamers and 3D modellers may seek out alternatives with faster refresh rates for smoother visuals.

How the Dell XPS 13 and the Razer Blade 15 compare to other laptops
"In the past, the XPS 13 was a hands-down contender for the best laptop on the market. But the Apple-silicon MacBook has since barrelled onto the scene, and it wipes the floor with most of the ultraportable Windows laptops that cross my desk on a daily basis. This XPS is no exception. Compared to the M2 MacBook Air, battery life is worse."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
