The Dell Latitude 14 7490 is a budget-friendly option that is significantly less expensive than the HP Dragonfly Pro 14". The Latitude 14 7490 offers solid performance with an Intel i7 processor and integrated graphics, suitable for general use and business applications. It also has a durable build and a good variety of ports. The HP Dragonfly Pro 14", on the other hand, features a newer AMD Ryzen 7 processor with better integrated graphics, which might suit more intensive tasks like 3D work or light gaming. The Dragonfly also sports a slightly higher resolution screen with a taller aspect ratio, which can be beneficial for productivity. Weight-wise, the HP is also a bit heavier than the Dell, which may impact portability. Both have similar storage and memory capacities. If battery life is a concern, the HP has a larger battery, which typically translates to longer usage between charges. However, with the HP's higher performance, battery life can still vary depending on usage. Additionally, the HP comes with a newer version of Windows out of the box. Ultimately, the decision depends on whether you prioritize cost savings with the Dell Latitude 14 7490 or if the performance and features of the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" justify its higher cost for your needs. Henry T. Casey | April 2018
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."

"I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt."
