Choosing the Dell Latitude 5430 means spending less while getting a laptop that's suitable for general tasks, with decent battery life and solid performance. However, it's slightly bulkier and less powerful for intensive tasks like engineering and 3D-modeling compared to the Dell XPS 13 Plus. On the other hand, the Dell XPS 13 Plus, while more expensive, offers a significantly better display, higher performance for demanding applications, and a more compact form factor, but has a similar battery life as the Latitude 5430. The Dell XPS 13 Plus has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 5430 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Dell Latitude 5430 offers a balance between performance and cost, making it a solid choice for general use, but its screen isn't as vibrant or sharp for tasks like detailed engineering work and lacks the high refresh rate required for smooth 3D gaming. On the other hand, the Dell XPS 13 Plus excels in screen quality with higher resolution and better color accuracy, crucial for professionals in engineering and design who rely on precise colors and clear visuals. However, despite its superior display, the XPS 13 Plus still lags in gaming and 3D rendering due to its average refresh rate, which can't match the fluidity needed by high-end gaming laptops.

How the Dell Latitude 5430 and the Dell XPS 13 Plus compare to other laptops
"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
