The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 has a larger screen, a numeric keypad on the keyboard, and is a bit more expensive, making it suitable for users needing a bigger display and the convenience of a full keyboard for productivity tasks. It offers a decent balance of performance for general use, 3D tasks, and engineering work. In contrast, the Dell XPS 13 is lighter, more portable, has a higher-quality display, and provides better battery life, making it ideal for users who prioritize mobility and screen quality, such as traveling professionals or students. It's also slightly less expensive than the Inspiron, but it lacks a numeric keypad and is designed for general use rather than intensive engineering tasks or 3D modeling. Choose the Inspiron if you need the bigger screen and numerical input for your work, while the XPS 13 is better for those who value portability and screen quality within a similar price range. The Dell XPS 13 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell XPS 13 outshines the Inspiron for general use and engineering due to its superior panel type, resolution, and brightness, which ensures crisp and vibrant visuals crucial for everyday tasks and detailed design work. Additionally, the XPS 13 offers wider color gamuts, making it suitable for engineering and design tasks that demand accurate color representation. However, both models lack high refresh rates which are essential for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications, marking them as subpar choices for those specific activities.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and Dell XPS 13 are both good for general use.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 is good for general use due to its combination of a solid CPU, ample RAM, and a large 16-inch screen that offers decent screen quality and brightness, although its larger size and weight reduce its portability compared to smaller laptops. On the other hand, the Dell XPS 13 also excels in general use with a high-performing CPU, the same amount of RAM, and a smaller, more portable 13.4-inch screen that has higher brightness and color accuracy, alongside a longer battery life but at a tradeoff of having a slightly smaller display and no numeric keypad compared to the Inspiron.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and Dell XPS 13 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 is fair for gaming and 3D due to its acceptable performance AMD Ryzen 7 integrated graphics but is limited by a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which isn’t ideal for fast-paced games that benefit from higher refresh rates. Similarly, the Dell XPS 13 also falls into the fair category for gaming and 3D work, with its Intel Iris Xe graphics providing comparable performance but again is hindered by the same 60Hz screen refresh rate, and while its smaller screen size makes it more portable, the smaller dimensions can detract from immersive gaming experiences.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and the Dell XPS 13 compare to other laptops
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
"In the past, the XPS 13 was a hands-down contender for the best laptop on the market. But the Apple-silicon MacBook has since barrelled onto the scene, and it wipes the floor with most of the ultraportable Windows laptops that cross my desk on a daily basis. This XPS is no exception. Compared to the M2 MacBook Air, battery life is worse."
