The Dell Inspiron 15 3520 is a more budget-friendly option with a larger 15.6-inch screen and higher refresh rate, making it suited for general use and multitasking. It has a number pad on the keyboard, which could be useful for numeric data entry. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14, while slightly more expensive, offers more storage, double the RAM, a more recent AMD processor, and better overall performance scores for general, 3D/machine learning, and engineering tasks. It is also lighter and more portable with a smaller 14-inch screen. Neither option is suitable for intensive gaming; for such activities, you would need to look at laptops with dedicated GPUs and more robust specs. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 15 3520 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Dell Inspiron and MSI Modern laptops offer adequate resolution and brightness with common panel types, ensuring comfortable viewing for everyday tasks such as browsing and video streaming. When it comes to engineering and design, both laptops provide fair color representation, but they may not cover the wider color gamuts preferred for precision work in graphics and video editing. However, for 3D and gaming, the modest refresh rates of these laptops can lead to less fluid motion and may affect the visual experience, making them less ideal for those specific activities.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3520 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"Dell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Plus, those alternatives are much more enjoyable after work."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
