If you prioritize performance for tasks like 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming, the Dell Inspiron 14 7435 with its Ryzen 7 processor could be a better choice, although it is more expensive and has slightly less battery life. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 might be more appealing if you are looking for something less expensive with longer battery life, and it also comes with Windows 11 Pro compared to the Dell's Windows 11 Home. Both laptops have similar portability, but the Dell offers 2-in-1 flexibility, functioning as a tablet and laptop, which could be advantageous if you value versatility in your device. Give Feedback

The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 and HP EliteBook 845 G9 have displays that offer adequate clarity and brightness for tasks like web browsing, video streaming, and word processing, hence their fair and good screen quality for general use, respectively. For engineering and design, where color accuracy is crucial, the HP EliteBook's better coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB gives it an edge in representing a wider range of colors precisely. However, their screens fall short for gaming and 3D applications, as neither has a high refresh rate that's necessary for smoother motion and a more responsive experience.

The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 and HP EliteBook 845 G9 are both good for general use.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 is well-suited for general use as it offers a good balance of CPU and RAM for daily tasks, a high-quality IPS touchscreen for vibrant visuals, and a decent battery life, while its 2-in-1 design adds versatility but with a moderate weight. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 also caters to general use with a slightly lower-tier CPU, similar RAM, an impressive screen with higher brightness and color accuracy, and longer battery life, making it highly portable with its lightweight design, though it has half the storage capacity of the Dell and lacks a touchscreen.

The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 and HP EliteBook 845 G9 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 are deemed fair for gaming and 3D because, despite reasonable graphical performance from their integrated GPUs, they are limited by standard screen refresh rates, which are not ideal for high-action gaming that benefits from faster refresh rates. Furthermore, while both devices have similar screen quality and resolutions, it's the GPUs—the Vega 8 in the Dell and the Radeon 660M in the HP—that dictate their gaming and 3D capabilities, and neither are top-of-the-line options that one would find in dedicated gaming laptops.

How the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 compare to other laptops
"We see no shame in an economy laptop missing the four-star mark. Frankly, we considered giving the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 three-and-a-half stars for its low price, competitive performance, and long battery life. Unfortunately, working with a screen that can't deliver at least 300 nits of brightness is simply no fun to the point of detrimental. Still, if you're looking for a convertible laptop on a tight budget, it's worth keeping an eye on Dell's sales and discounts. That Lavender Blue model is fairly tempting."
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
