The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 offers a higher midrange price, more storage, and stronger performance suitable for general use, 3D/machine learning tasks, and engineering, all on a larger and sharper display. However, it is less portable compared to the Gateway 11.6", which is more budget-friendly, lighter, and may suit basic tasks and general use but falls short in more demanding applications. The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 offers better gaming and 3D performance due to its more capable AMD Ryzen Vega 8 graphics, compared to the Gateway 11.6" which is equipped with a less powerful Intel UHD Graphics 600 typically found in entry-level notebooks. Both laptops have the same screen refresh rate, but the higher quality GPU in the Dell Inspiron plays a crucial role in gaming and 3D applications.

The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 offers a balance suitable for general use with decent resolution and brightness, making it comfortable for daily tasks; however, it falls short for gaming due to a standard refresh rate. For engineering and design work, despite its fair screen resolution, limited color range hinders precision needed for color-critical tasks. The Gateway 11.6" has a lower resolution and dimmer screen, making it less ideal even for general use, and its lackluster color gamut and refresh rate make it unsuitable for specialized tasks in engineering, design, and 3D applications.

"We see no shame in an economy laptop missing the four-star mark. Frankly, we considered giving the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 three-and-a-half stars for its low price, competitive performance, and long battery life. Unfortunately, working with a screen that can't deliver at least 300 nits of brightness is simply no fun to the point of detrimental. Still, if you're looking for a convertible laptop on a tight budget, it's worth keeping an eye on Dell's sales and discounts. That Lavender Blue model is fairly tempting."
