The Dell Alienware X17 R2 is typically much more expensive than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s but provides high-end gaming capabilities with superior graphics, larger storage, and more RAM. It is heavier and has less battery life, making it less portable. The ThinkBook, being much lighter and with longer battery life, is suitable for general use and offers a higher resolution screen with touch capability, greater portability, and comes at a lower cost. For intensive gaming or engineering tasks, the Alienware is the better option; for everyday productivity and on-the-go use, the ThinkBook is more practical. Give Feedback

The Dell Alienware X17 R2 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, the Dell Alienware X17 R2 offers a higher resolution and brightness, which makes it ideal for crisp, clear visuals and use in various lighting conditions. For engineering and design tasks, the Alienware's screen includes a wide color gamut that accurately represents a broad spectrum of colors, crucial for detailed and color-sensitive work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the laptop falls short due to a lower refresh rate, which would result in less smooth motion and responsiveness compared to screens tailored for high-refresh-rate gaming.

How the Dell Alienware X17 R2 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s compare to other laptops
"The Alienware x17 R2 recognizes targets a significantly higher TGP of 175 W for a roughly 30 percent performance boost over laptops running on the ~100 W GeForce RTX 3080 Ti like the Razer Blade 15 or Gigabyte Aero YE5. Similar results can be found through the CPU as well. This single aspect of the Alienware is perhaps the biggest differentiating factor between it and other ultrathin gaming laptops. Of course, the "performance at all cost" approach comes with drawbacks. Power consumption in particular is through the roof and battery life suffers because of it even when on the lowest performance settings."
"The best thing about the ThinkBook 13S is that it’s a good deal. Business buyers looking for ThinkPad-level performance and software without ThinkPad pricing will probably find the ThinkBook a solid option. While nothing about it is really spectacular, it’s certainly unusual to see the ThinkBook’s screen resolution at a sub-$1,000 price, and its performance will be more than adequate for most office tasks. The generous port selection, 16:10 aspect ratio, physical webcam shutter, and clear audio are certainly icing on the cake."
