The Dell Alienware X17 R2 is a powerhouse designed for high-end gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, with top-tier performance and a robust build. However, it's bulkier and less suitable for frequent travel due to its size and weight. Its battery life is also shorter, which is common for gaming laptops. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 offers a more portable and versatile experience with its 2-in-1 design, longer battery life, and superior screen colors, making it excellent for general use and on-the-go productivity. While it doesn't match the Alienware's performance for demanding tasks, it's still capable for everyday activities and even light gaming. Its OLED display is also a standout feature for media consumption. If you prioritize raw power and gaming capabilities, the Alienware is the way to go, but for a balance of portability, versatility, and good-enough performance for most tasks, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 is the better choice. NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | May 2022
"The Alienware x17 R2 recognizes targets a significantly higher TGP of 175 W for a roughly 30 percent performance boost over laptops running on the ~100 W GeForce RTX 3080 Ti like the Razer Blade 15 or Gigabyte Aero YE5. Similar results can be found through the CPU as well. This single aspect of the Alienware is perhaps the biggest differentiating factor between it and other ultrathin gaming laptops. Of course, the "performance at all cost" approach comes with drawbacks. Power consumption in particular is through the roof and battery life suffers because of it even when on the lowest performance settings."
