The Dell Alienware X17 R2 is a high-performance laptop with a strong focus on gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering workloads. However, its larger size, weight, and lower battery life make it less portable than the LG Gram 16. The LG Gram 16, on the other hand, is lighter and offers significantly longer battery life, making it highly portable and more suited for general use, such as business or student work. It's also usually less expensive but does not support demanding gaming or high-performance tasks as well as the Dell. Choose the Dell if performance is critical or the LG Gram if portability and battery life are priorities. Give Feedback

The Dell Alienware X17 R2 has a better screen than the LG Gram 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, where distinct text clarity and general viewing comfort are key, the Dell Alienware X17 R2's high-resolution display with bright colors ensures enjoyable everyday activities, while the LG Gram 16 also offers a clear and vivid screen but may not match the richness of the Dell. In tasks involving engineering and design, the Alienware's coverage of professional color gamuts allows for precise color work which is critical for designers, whereas the LG Gram, though satisfactory, might not offer the same color accuracy and range. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate on both laptops might lead to less fluid motion, affecting gameplay and fast-paced visuals, with the Alienware offering superior resolution and panel type which may somewhat mitigate this limitation.

How the Dell Alienware X17 R2 and the LG Gram 16 compare to other laptops
"The Alienware x17 R2 recognizes targets a significantly higher TGP of 175 W for a roughly 30 percent performance boost over laptops running on the ~100 W GeForce RTX 3080 Ti like the Razer Blade 15 or Gigabyte Aero YE5. Similar results can be found through the CPU as well. This single aspect of the Alienware is perhaps the biggest differentiating factor between it and other ultrathin gaming laptops. Of course, the "performance at all cost" approach comes with drawbacks. Power consumption in particular is through the roof and battery life suffers because of it even when on the lowest performance settings."
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
