The Dell Alienware x14 R1 offers high performance suitable for gaming, intensive engineering tasks, and 3D/machine learning applications due to its powerful processor and dedicated graphics card. However, it's heavier and less portable. Good battery life can be expected, but it may not last as long when performing demanding tasks. On the other hand, the HP Stream 14" is much more wallet-friendly and portable, making it a suitable choice for general use like web browsing and document editing. However, it has lower performance capabilities and a lower-resolution screen, which is not ideal for intensive tasks or higher quality media consumption. If budget is a concern and your tasks are relatively light, the HP Stream could fit your needs. If you need a workhorse for demanding applications and can afford it, the Alienware is the better bet. NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | March 2022
"The Alienware X14 series is thinner, but also slower than the competition. With the X series, you get plenty of modern technology: Intel Alder Lake CPUs, GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E, G-Sync, and Advanced Optimus. However, the slim design has some drawbacks, just like its larger siblings. The shifted hinge position results in a very deep device with a large footprint compared to the competition."

PCMag

Zachary Cuevas | November 2021
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
