If you're looking for higher performance for gaming or demanding applications, and don't mind spending more, the Dell Alienware m16 R2 is designed for that, but it's also heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less ideal for travel. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, on the other hand, offers a balance of performance and portability at a more affordable price, suitable for everyday tasks and light to moderate creative work, but it's not built for heavy gaming or high-end creative tasks like video editing. LaptopMag

Momo Tabari | January 2024
"Alienware’s m16 R2 is a solid gaming laptop that leaves much to be desired, particularly in its quest to fulfill your needs as a product for productivity. Battery life under eight hours and a dim display are both vital issues for something that will accompany you through school projects or a workday. However, the Alienware m16 R2 is an exceedingly powerful gaming laptop, consistently being one of the best in our performance tests when compared against similar products. Even then, its display is lacking color, its fans get pretty darn loud, and its speakers aren’t punchy enough to rise above that noise."

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | September 2022
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
