The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is generally less expensive and lighter, making it more portable, but its performance is suited more for general tasks than for intensive gaming or high-end graphics work. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G is usually more expensive and heavier, yet it excels in gaming, 3D rendering, and other intensive tasks due to its powerful graphics card and higher refresh rate screen. If portability and budget are your priorities, consider the Zenbook Duo 14; if performance in demanding applications is crucial, the Aorus 17G may be the better choice, provided you are okay with the extra weight and cost. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo 14, with its dual-screen design and a capable integrated GPU, is suited for multitasking and design tasks where screen real estate and portability matter, while the Gigabyte Aorus 17G offers more power for engineering simulations with better CPU, double the RAM, and a high-end discrete GPU, but is less portable and has a larger screen which is better for detailed work but makes the laptop heavier and bulkier. Both have high-quality screens and ample storage, but the Aorus 17G's superior performance for engineering tasks may come at the cost of less battery life and portability compared to the more travel-friendly Zenbook Duo.

How the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
