The Asus Zenbook 14X is suited for those who need higher performance with a better display and are willing to pay more. Its newer processor and dedicated graphics make it ideal for intensive tasks like 3D design, machine learning, light gaming, and engineering work. The higher-quality OLED screen offers crisp visuals which is great for media consumption. On the downside, it's heavier and may have a shorter battery life, which can limit its portability. The Dell Latitude 14 7490, being more affordable, is a good choice for general use, with an adequate processor for everyday tasks, and longer battery life that enhances its portability. However, it has a lower-quality screen and may struggle with more demanding software. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook 14X is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Dell Latitude 14 7490 is poor.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a dedicated Nvidia MX550 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 90 Hz, making it better suited for gaming and 3D applications than the Dell Latitude 14 7490, which employs an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU and has a more standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. While both laptops fulfill the basic requirements for such tasks, the ASUS will offer smoother visuals and potentially more detailed graphics, providing a fair experience in scenarios demanding more graphic processing capabilities.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X is good for engineering and design, while the Dell Latitude 14 7490 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X stands out for engineering and design use due to its superior main processor and dedicated Nvidia GPU which enable more robust performance for computational and graphical tasks, alongside an OLED display with high resolution and color accuracy, enhancing visual work. In contrast, the Dell Latitude 14 7490, although very portable and with a good keyboard, houses a less powerful CPU and integrated graphics, and its IPS screen offers lower resolution and color coverage, making it suitable for more basic design tasks but not as capable for intensive engineering applications.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 14 7490 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X likely offers a higher resolution and brightness along with a high-quality panel type, making it excellent for vivid and detailed visuals in general use and engineering tasks where color accuracy is crucial. However, its lower refresh rate could lead to less fluid visuals in fast-paced games or 3D modeling. On the other hand, the Dell Latitude might present a fair compromise for general tasks with decent resolution and brightness, offer adequate color accuracy for engineering, but like the ASUS, falls short for gaming and 3D due to a lower refresh rate.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the Dell Latitude 14 7490 compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
