If your primary concern is cost and general use, the ASUS Zenbook 14's lower price makes it a good choice as it offers a similar high-resolution OLED screen and a good build for everyday tasks. However, the ASUS Zenbook 14X, while more expensive, brings a more powerful processor, a dedicated graphics card, and double the storage and memory, which would be beneficial for more intensive engineering work, 3D applications, machine learning, or gaming. Despite the high performance, both laptops maintain a similar size and weight, although the Zenbook 14X might have slightly less battery life owing to its higher specs. Give Feedback

How the ASUS Zenbook 14 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X compare to other laptops
"Users who travel frequently and are looking for a portable laptop are in the right place with the Asus ZenBook 14. The sleek case is extremely light (1.2 kg) and surprisingly thin (1.5 cm). Outdoor use is also enjoyable thanks to the bright Full HD display, which is something that can rarely be said about laptops with TN or IPS panels. The excellent battery life complements this as well. Longer trips are no problem with the ZenBook 14. Another plus point is the high-performance Ryzen 7 5700U, which often leaves the Intel competition in the dust thanks to its large number of cores."
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
