For a balance of performance and portability with a stunning OLED display, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is a strong choice, especially for media consumption and general use, though it's pricier and has less battery life compared to the Dell Latitude 14 7490. The Dell, on the other hand, offers a more budget-friendly option with a touchscreen and longer battery life, making it ideal for everyday tasks and business use, despite its older processor and less vibrant display. If you need a laptop for intensive tasks like gaming or engineering, the ASUS's superior GPU and higher refresh rate display will serve you better, but for general productivity and longevity on the go, the Dell Latitude is a practical choice. Darragh Murphy | November 2022
"The Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED excels as a capable work machine at an affordable price. It offers commendable performance, thanks to its 12th Gen Intel chip, delivers quality on-screen entertainment with its 15.6-inch OLED display, and can (kind of) get you through a full day of work. Oh, and its special Asus Antibacterial Guard is a nice touch for those who like a clean laptop."

Henry T. Casey | April 2018
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
