For a balance of performance and portability with a stunning display, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is a strong contender. Its OLED screen offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for media consumption and light photo editing. The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel Arc GPU provide ample power for everyday tasks and some light gaming or creative work. However, its battery life is shorter, and it has fewer ports compared to the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s is a solid choice for productivity and business use, with a higher resolution IPS touchscreen that's great for detail-oriented tasks. It boasts a more robust port selection, including Thunderbolt 4, and longer battery life, which is beneficial for all-day use. The laptop's 16GB of RAM will handle multitasking with ease, and the inclusion of Windows 11 Pro makes it suitable for professional environments. While it may not excel in gaming or intensive graphical tasks, its performance for general use and engineering tasks is commendable. Ultimately, if you prioritize a superior display and are drawn to a more compact design for general use or light creative work, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is the way to go. However, if you need longer battery life, a better selection of ports, and a machine geared towards business and productivity tasks, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s would be the more practical choice. The Verge

Monica Chin | July 2021
"The best thing about the ThinkBook 13S is that it’s a good deal. Business buyers looking for ThinkPad-level performance and software without ThinkPad pricing will probably find the ThinkBook a solid option. While nothing about it is really spectacular, it’s certainly unusual to see the ThinkBook’s screen resolution at a sub-$1,000 price, and its performance will be more than adequate for most office tasks. The generous port selection, 16:10 aspect ratio, physical webcam shutter, and clear audio are certainly icing on the cake."
