When choosing between the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, consider that the ASUS offers superior performance with a high-end processor and better graphics, making it suited for intensive tasks and multitasking. It also has a superior OLED screen with a higher resolution, which is ideal for those who prioritize display quality for content creation or entertainment. On the other hand, the Lenovo is generally more affordable and offers solid performance for everyday tasks, although with lower specs which may not handle demanding software as smoothly. The Lenovo is also slightly lighter, potentially making it easier to carry around. In summary, if budget isn't a constraint and you need top performance and display, go for the ASUS, but if you're looking for value and portability for routine use, the Lenovo might be the right choice. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
If you prioritize a vibrant display with rich colors for tasks like photo editing or graphic design, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED stands out with its high-resolution OLED panel that offers wide color coverage, which is critical for accurate color work in engineering and design. For everyday activities like web browsing and productivity tasks where color accuracy is less critical, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3's fair screen quality is ample, but you'll miss out on the OLED's visual punch. However, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D work, as both lack the high refresh rate screens that are essential for smooth motion and fast-paced visuals in these scenarios.

"The Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED excels as a capable work machine at an affordable price. It offers commendable performance, thanks to its 12th Gen Intel chip, delivers quality on-screen entertainment with its 15.6-inch OLED display, and can (kind of) get you through a full day of work. Oh, and its special Asus Antibacterial Guard is a nice touch for those who like a clean laptop."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
