The ASUS Vivobook 17 is more budget-friendly and offers a large 17.3-inch display; it's suited for general use and its lighter weight makes it quite portable. However, its performance for engineering, 3D rendering, or gaming is limited due to its basic graphics and processor. Conversely, the Gigabyte A5, while more expensive, has a smaller 15.6-inch screen but significantly better performance with a robust graphics card and stronger processor, making it well-suited for gaming, engineering, and other intensive tasks. While its battery life is comparable to the ASUS, it's slightly heavier, which may affect its portability. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Gigabyte A5's screen provides sharper images and better color reproduction due to its higher resolution and brighter display, making it more pleasant for reading and media consumption compared to the Vivobook 17. With engineering and design tasks that require precise color detailing, the A5 excels by covering a broader range of the color spectrum, essential for accurate rendering of designs. However, both laptops fall short for 3D tasks, as their screens have lower refresh rates, which can result in less fluid motion and responsiveness during gaming or real-time 3D modeling.

How the ASUS Vivobook 17 and the Gigabyte A5 compare to other laptops
"The ASUS Vivobook 17 is an affordable 17-inch laptop with passive cooling. On one hand, you get a really quiet and cool work device with a good system performance, many connections, good maintenance options, speakers acceptable for multimedia enjoyment, and a sharp and clear matte FHD IPS display with the Asus VivoBook 17 (F712JA). On the other hand, the USB-C port lacks Power Delivery and DisplayPort, and the display, a higher brightness and better color space coverage."
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
