If you're on a budget and need a larger screen for multitasking or less demanding tasks, the ASUS Vivobook 17 offers a significant cost advantage while providing a spacious 17-inch screen. It's better suited for general use such as browsing, office applications, and video streaming, but it's heavier and has lower overall performance. On the other hand, if you're willing to invest more in a more powerful machine with a sharper, brighter, and more colorful display, the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2024) also offers innovative dual-screen functionality, better build quality, and higher portability due to its smaller size and lighter weight. It's well-suited for more intensive tasks like photo editing or multitasking with multiple complex applications, and it boasts a longer battery life, making it a strong choice for mobile professionals or creative users. How the ASUS Vivobook 17 and the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2024) compare to other laptops
"The ASUS Vivobook 17 is an affordable 17-inch laptop with passive cooling. On one hand, you get a really quiet and cool work device with a good system performance, many connections, good maintenance options, speakers acceptable for multimedia enjoyment, and a sharp and clear matte FHD IPS display with the Asus VivoBook 17 (F712JA). On the other hand, the USB-C port lacks Power Delivery and DisplayPort, and the display, a higher brightness and better color space coverage."
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
