The Dell Precision 5470 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
In general use, the ASUS Vivobook 15 offers adequate resolution and brightness for typical activities like web browsing and office work, while the Dell Precision 5470, with its higher-quality panel, provides clearer and brighter visuals. For engineering and design professionals, the Dell Precision's screen covers a wider color spectrum, important for color accuracy in detailed design work, whereas the Vivobook's more limited color range may not represent colors as precisely. When it comes to 3D applications, although neither laptop has the high refresh rates preferred for fluid movement and rendering, the superior panel type and resolution of the Dell may provide a somewhat better experience than the ASUS in these scenarios.

"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"The Dell Precision 5470 is a mobile workstation that's far more portable than most alternatives. Between its slim 14-inch design and top-quality MIL-STD 810H build, it's one of the best options around for taking professional-grade performance on the road or to the job site. There are tradeoffs for its portability, and users of the most demanding, graphics-intensive applications will need to carry something heavier. But the Dell's exceptional battery life underscores its desirability as the most portable workstation we've seen."
