The ASUS ROG Strix G18 excels in 3D rendering and intensive gaming due to its more powerful GPU and processor; it also has a higher refresh rate for smoother visuals, but this comes with the tradeoff of being heavier and having a shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Dell Precision 5470, while offering professional-grade performance particularly suitable for engineering work with its specialized graphics card, is more portable with a higher portability score, longer battery life, and also comes with Windows 11 Pro. Both laptops are similarly priced, but the Dell lacks the gaming aesthetics of the ASUS and has a smaller storage capacity. Consider your primary use – if it's gaming or graphics-intensive tasks, the ASUS may suit you better; if you need something for on-the-go professional work with longer usage away from power outlets, the Dell could be the better choice. NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | March 2023
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."

PCMag

Brian Westover | August 2022
"The Dell Precision 5470 is a mobile workstation that's far more portable than most alternatives. Between its slim 14-inch design and top-quality MIL-STD 810H build, it's one of the best options around for taking professional-grade performance on the road or to the job site. There are tradeoffs for its portability, and users of the most demanding, graphics-intensive applications will need to carry something heavier. But the Dell's exceptional battery life underscores its desirability as the most portable workstation we've seen."
