The ASUS Vivobook 15 is notably more affordable with less storage, an i3 processor, a larger 15.6" screen, but a smaller battery capacity and heavier weight compared to the Dell Latitude 5430. Consider the ASUS for budget-friendly general use and the Dell if you need better performance for more intensive tasks like engineering and are willing to invest in a more portable device. The ASUS Vivobook 15 has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 5430 for engineering and design, while the Dell Latitude 5430 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the ASUS Vivobook 15 and Dell Latitude 5430 have panels with adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and office work, but they may not be as sharp or vibrant as higher-end models. In engineering and design, professionals need accurate color representation, but these laptops might fall short in fully covering color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, leading to less precise color work. For gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these laptops mean less smooth visuals, which can be a drawback for fast-paced games or detailed 3D rendering.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Latitude 5430 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook 15 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 and Dell Latitude 5430 are both considered fair for gaming and 3D applications mainly due to their integrated graphics - UHD Graphics with the Vivobook and Iris Xe with the Latitude - which can handle basic gaming and 3D tasks but won't support the high-performance needs of intensive games and complex 3D rendering. Additionally, they both have a standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz which is adequate for general use but might not provide the smoothest experience in fast-paced games, where higher refresh rates are preferred.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the Dell Latitude 5430 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
