The Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D is a top-tier gaming laptop with exceptional performance for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, thanks to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU and AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D processor. It boasts a high-resolution 2560 x 1440 IPS display with a fast 240Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for fast-paced action and detailed visual work. However, its large 17.3-inch screen and considerable weight make it less portable, and it comes with a high-end price tag.
On the other hand, the HP Victus 15 offers a more budget-friendly option with a midrange price. It's equipped with an Intel i5-13420H processor and an Nvidia RTX 3050 6GB GPU, which are suitable for general use and some gaming, though it won't match the Asus in intensive tasks. Its 15.6-inch Full HD display is more than adequate for everyday tasks, and its smaller size and lighter weight make it a more portable choice. The battery life is also decent for typical usage.
In summary, if you prioritize top-of-the-line performance and a high-quality display for gaming or professional work and don't mind a heavier, less portable laptop, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D is the way to go. However, if you're looking for a more affordable and portable laptop for general use with some gaming capabilities, the HP Victus 15 is a solid choice. Give Feedback

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
