The Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D is a top-tier gaming and engineering laptop with a high-performance AMD Ryzen 9 processor and an Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU, ensuring excellent performance for demanding tasks and intensive gaming. Its large 17.3-inch IPS display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate is ideal for fast-paced action and detailed visuals, though it's less portable due to its size and weight. It also offers a premium build quality, a backlit keyboard, and extensive connectivity options, including USB-C and Thunderbolt ports. In contrast, the HP Stream 14" is an affordable, compact laptop designed for general use with a modest Intel Celeron N4120 processor and integrated Intel UHD Graphics. Its 14-inch TN display with a 1366 x 768 resolution is suitable for everyday tasks but won't deliver the same visual experience as the Asus. It's highly portable, lightweight, and has a longer battery life, making it a good choice for students or professionals who need a basic laptop for work on the go. If you prioritize performance and visual quality for gaming, 3D rendering, or engineering tasks and don't mind a heavier, less portable device, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D is the better choice. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive, lightweight laptop for general use like web browsing, word processing, and casual use, the HP Stream 14" offers great value for its price point. PCMag

Zachary Cuevas | November 2021
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
