The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is targeted at gamers and professionals demanding high performance, featuring a top-tier processor and graphics card. It's larger, heavier, and has a high refresh rate screen that's more suitable for fast-paced games, though the resolution is standard Full HD. Conversely, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is lighter, more compact, and offers a higher resolution and different aspect ratio screen, which is beneficial for productivity and multimedia. Both have comparable battery life, but if portability and screen real estate matter to you, and you can forego some gaming performance, the M16 offers a more balanced package at a lower price. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 and the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 compare to other laptops
"Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 laptop review: liquid metal 7 nm AMD Zen 3 is stunning. The raw performance increase is absolutely bonkers if you're upgrading from a laptop on Coffee Lake-H or older. The 45 W Ryzen 9 5900HX is neck-to-neck with the thicker, heavier, and hotter Schenker Ultra 17 running on a desktop-class Core i9-11900K despite their wide TDP differences. The performance-per-watt advantages can make Intel Rocket Lake feel like a last generation platform at times. As for the chassis itself, it's a huge light show with RGB LEDs on almost all sides of the system."
"The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is not yet as optimised as its predecessor. Compared to the previous gen, performance and efficiency have improved significantly. What's more, the wonderful, Mini-LED Nebula display is a contender for the main highlight and almost manages to put the CPU and GPU in the shade. We already found its predecessor to be a well-rounded and well-optimised gaming machine. Generally, but not unequivocally, that also applies to the new Asus M16. Similar to most of the current, new laptops, we are dealing with a double generational leap in terms of the CPU and GPU. However, this change doesn't always run smoothly."
