If you prioritize top-tier performance for engineering tasks and the most advanced gaming experience, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is well-suited for you, especially if you're engaged in activities that benefit from a higher-end processor and enhanced display colors. However, keep in mind that this model is more expensive and less portable than some options. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS66 offers excellent portability and a professional look, making it suitable for both work and gaming, though it may come at a slightly higher price and with a smaller storage capacity. Both laptops have a similar battery life and neither is particularly lightweight or compact; the ASUS is a bit heavier but provides more screen real estate and better color accuracy, which can be important for design work. How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the MSI Stealth GS66 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
