The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 offers superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks compared to the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14, due to its higher-end graphics card and processor. It also has a higher refresh rate display which is better for fast motion, such as gaming. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable than the Lenovo. The Lenovo, although less powerful, has a higher resolution touchscreen display, longer battery life, and is lighter, making it more suitable for general use and better for traveling. It is also typically less expensive than the ASUS. If your priority is gaming or intensive tasks and you don't mind a heavier machine with shorter battery life, go for the ASUS. If you favor portability, battery life, and a sharper display for everyday tasks, the Lenovo might be the better choice. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 is good.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 stands out for engineering and design due to its higher-end CPU and GPU setup, translating into better performance for resource-intensive applications, but it's heavier and less portable than the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14, which also offers a high-resolution display with a higher pixel density making it well-suited for design work with sharp and detailed visuals. While both laptops have sufficient RAM and quality screens, the ASUS's stronger processing capabilities give it an edge for very demanding tasks, though the Lenovo offers better portability alongside a high-quality, higher resolution screen for design precision.

For general use, both the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 have displays that offer clear images, sufficient detail with their resolution, and brightness that allows for comfortable viewing in various lighting conditions. For engineering and design purposes, these laptops' screens can reproduce a wide range of colors accurately, crucial for tasks that demand color precision for professional work. However, when it comes to gaming and 3D applications, despite their high-quality displays in other areas, they don't have the high refresh rates required for the smoothest motion rendering and responsiveness competitive players and immersive experiences often require.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 is an attractive, portable laptop that’s ideal if you need a combination of CPU and GPU performance. It also nails the fundamentals with solid connectivity, an enjoyable keyboard, a large touchpad, and top-notch webcam. Display quality is a weakness, but it’s an acceptable compromise for the laptop’s extremely competitive $1,199 MSRP. The Slim Pro 7 is a versatile, affordable laptop and hard to beat for the price."
