The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is typically more expensive and offers high gaming performance, with a powerful Intel i9 processor and Nvidia 3070 Ti graphics card. It is well suited for engineering tasks and 3D/machine learning applications but has limited battery life and portability due to its larger size and weight. The Lenovo LOQ 16, on the other hand, is more affordable and portable, with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and Nvidia 4050 graphics card, which provides good general use and gaming performance but may not handle intensive engineering tasks as efficiently as the ASUS. Both have similar RAM and storage, but the Lenovo has a slight edge in battery life and a higher resolution screen with a different aspect ratio, which might be better for productivity tasks. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo LOQ 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, both the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo LOQ 16 provide clear, sharp images and sufficient brightness, making them well-suited for tasks like web browsing, document editing, and video streaming. Their strong performance in engineering and design comes from their ability to display a wide range of colors accurately, which is crucial for professionals who need precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, their lower refresh rates may lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness, which can be a drawback for fast-paced games or high-speed 3D rendering tasks.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Lenovo LOQ 16 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."
