Based on the comparison, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is tailored more for performance-driven tasks like gaming, 3D modeling, or engineering software due to its advanced processor and high-end graphics card, offering stronger performance but at a higher price and with increased weight, which affects portability. The HP Stream 14, on the other hand, is significantly more affordable and lighter, making it more portable, but it is equipped with less powerful hardware that is suitable for basic tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and media consumption, not for intensive tasks. If you prioritize high performance for demanding applications and don't mind the extra cost and weight, the ASUS would suit your needs. In contrast, if your usage is more casual and you're looking for something easy to carry around at a lower price point, the HP Stream 14 would be more appropriate. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is good for general use, while the HP Stream 14" is only fair.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the HP Stream 14" is poor.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is well-suited for engineering and design due to its powerful Intel i9 processor, ample RAM, and robust Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics, complemented by a high-quality IPS screen; whereas, the HP Stream 14" falls short for such demanding tasks with its modest Intel Celeron processor, basic integrated graphics, and a lower-quality TN screen. Despite the HP being more portable and quieter due to its simpler design, it can't match the ASUS in performance, which is crucial for resource-intensive applications used in engineering and design work.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 screen fares well in general use and engineering due to its high resolution and brightness, and wide color coverage that delivers crisp, vibrant images. However, for gaming and 3D applications where a high refresh rate is crucial, it falls short, leading to less smooth visuals in fast-paced scenarios.
The HP Stream 14" has a screen that lacks in resolution and brightness, making it suboptimal for both general and professional use; colors may not be accurate or vivid enough for detailed design work. Its poor refresh rate and basic panel also make it unsuitable for gaming and 3D tasks, as it cannot provide fluid motion or the detailed imagery required for an immersive experience.

"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
