Choosing between the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G largely depends on your preferences and priorities. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 offers a bit more performance for tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning due to a higher-tier CPU and GPU but is slightly less portable than the Aorus 17G. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G, despite being more expensive and having a bit less storage, has better battery life and larger screen size, which could be important for engineering applications. Both have similar RAM, refresh rates, and no touchscreen. Consider the ASUS ROG if you prioritize gaming and performance, and the Aorus 17G if you need a broader display and longer battery life for productivity or leisure. Give Feedback

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
