The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is better suited for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering due to its powerful processor, high-end graphics card, and ample RAM and storage. However, it is less portable and has a shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Gateway 11.6" is much more affordable and portable with a higher portability score, and its battery is likely to last longer, but it's equipped with a less powerful processor and graphics, which makes it suitable for general use and basic tasks but not for demanding applications or gaming. If you prioritize performance and are willing to invest more, the ASUS is the better choice, while the Gateway is a budget-friendly option ideal for everyday tasks and travel-friendly usage. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is good for general use, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15, with a high-performance Intel i9 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a quality IPS screen, is well-suited for general use where these factors contribute to smooth multitasking and clear visuals. In contrast, the Gateway 11.6" with a weaker Intel Celeron processor, only 4GB of RAM, and a lower resolution screen struggles with demanding tasks and displays, making it a less ideal choice for versatile daily computing.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 likely offers a good balance of resolution, brightness, and panel quality making it suitable for everyday tasks, while its color accuracy benefits engineering and design work, but its refresh rate might not be high enough for the most demanding gamers and 3D designers. On the other hand, the Gateway 11.6" may have lower resolution and brightness, affecting the clarity and comfort for general use, and its limited color gamut and low resolution make it less ideal for precise engineering and design tasks. When it comes to 3D work, the Gateway's poor refresh rate, along with its moderate resolution and panel type, fail to deliver the smooth visuals required for such intensive tasks.

"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
