The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a superior screen for general use and engineering tasks due to its higher resolution and brightness, allowing for crisper and more vibrant visuals, as well as wider color gamuts for accurate color representation crucial in design work. On the other hand, its lower refresh rate makes it less suitable for gaming and 3D work, where smooth motion is key. The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3, while providing good resolution and brightness for daily tasks and sufficient color accuracy for engineering, falls short for gaming and 3D purposes due to a similarly lower refresh rate that can affect the fluidity of fast-paced visuals.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is one of the most powerful RTX 3050 Ti laptops. If you disregard the mediocre quality of the case in terms of the material and workmanship, Lenovo has created a successful budget gaming laptop with the IdeaPad Gaming. Thanks to high TDPs and constant performance development, the Core i5-12500H and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti are able to show their full power, while in contrast, the (mostly slower) competitors deliver a better battery life. However, hardly any of the alternative laptops are able to reach the image quality of the Gaming 3. Most of the competitors are left behind in terms of the color space and brightness."
