For a balance of performance and portability, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a strong contender with its high-performance Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, making it suitable for gaming and engineering tasks. It offers a bright and color-accurate display with a 165Hz refresh rate, which is great for fast-paced motion. However, it's slightly heavier and has a lower battery life compared to the Lenovo Legion 5 16. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion 5 16 boasts an advanced Intel i9 processor and the same Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, delivering excellent performance for general use, gaming, and engineering tasks. Its higher resolution display is ideal for detailed work, and it has a faster 240Hz refresh rate, enhancing the visual experience for gaming. The Legion 5 also provides a better webcam and longer battery life, but it's thicker and has a more traditional gaming laptop design, which may not be as appealing if you're looking for something sleeker. Ultimately, if you prioritize a longer battery life, superior webcam, and a higher resolution display for detailed work, the Lenovo Legion 5 16 is the way to go. However, if you value a brighter screen, a more portable design, and a laptop that can handle intensive tasks while still offering good gaming capabilities, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 would be the better choice. NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | March 2023
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
