If you need a powerhouse for 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 with its more robust graphics processor will serve you better; however, it's heavier and bulkier, making it less ideal for frequent travel. On the other hand, the HP Dragonfly Pro 14 offers great portability and superior battery life, plus a touchscreen option, which could be advantageous for presentations or general use, but it's not as well-suited for highly demanding tasks as the ASUS is. The HP also has a better keyboard and webcam, which could be valuable for remote work and video conferencing. Despite a slight price difference, with the ASUS generally being somewhat more expensive, your decision should weigh heavily on whether performance or portability and everyday functionality are your priority. NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | March 2023
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."

Brendan Nystedt | March 2023
"I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt."
