For better performance in tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or intensive gaming, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 is well-suited due to its advanced processor and graphics card, but with an increased price and it being less portable. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is more affordable, offers a larger screen, and has longer battery life, making it suitable for general use or simple engineering tasks and it's slightly more portable, but it won't handle intensive tasks as effectively as the ASUS. Consider the ASUS if your work requires high computing power and you can handle a heavier device. If you're looking for something for daily tasks and prioritize battery life and a larger screen, go for the Lenovo. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for gaming and AI, and content creation.
For general use, both the ASUS ROG Strix G15 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 offer screens with suitable resolution and brightness, making them clear and easy on the eyes for tasks like browsing and video streaming. In terms of engineering and design, they include color accurate panels that cover a wide range of colors, essential for professionals who require precision for their work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-moving visuals are common, the lower refresh rates on these laptops may lead to less fluid motion, which isn't ideal for these high-paced visual tasks.

The ASUS ROG Strix G15 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both good for general use.
The ASUS ROG Strix G15 offers strong performance for general tasks with its high-end CPU and ample RAM, as well as a high-refresh rate screen which is suitable for both work and play, yet it falls short on battery life compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17”, which has a larger screen for better multitasking and media consumption with great battery life, but its lower-spec CPU and less RAM may slow down more demanding processes. Portability-wise, the Lenovo is slightly lighter despite its larger screen size, while the ASUS is more compact, but both are not exceedingly portable due to their screen sizes and gaming laptop appearance.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a successful high-performance 15-inch laptop. The Asus ROG Strix impresses with an elaborate design and fast hardware. The latter can unleash its potential well in the large 15-inch case and achieve a decent performance boost compared to the previous generation. Especially the stunning 300 Hz display as well as the RTX 3070 and its generous TDP give gamers their money's worth. Asus didn't neglect seemingly small details, either, such as the keyboard and the maintenance options. The ROG Strix G15 offers a lot of pure performance and excellent workmanship in a 15-inch format, but connectivity leaves something to be desired."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
