If portability is crucial for you and budget is a concern, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 is less expensive and lighter, thus easier to carry around. However, if you seek top-tier gaming or require a laptop for demanding engineering applications, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 provides significantly better performance owing to a more powerful graphics card and processor but comes at a higher price and with a slight increase in weight. Both have similar battery life and screen quality, with neither offering a touchscreen. Note that the Scar 15 has a superior screen refresh rate, which can enhance gaming and video experiences. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Strix G15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS ROG Strix G15 and Scar 15 both offer panels with solid resolution and brightness, making them well-suited for general use where reading text and viewing content need to be clear and easy on the eyes. For engineering and design tasks, these laptops include good color gamut coverage, ensuring that professionals who require color accuracy for projects can trust what they see on their screens. However, for gaming and 3D applications that benefit from high refresh rates, the screens on these models don't excel, which can lead to less fluid motion and a less immersive experience in fast-paced or graphically intensive scenarios.

The ASUS ROG Strix G15's powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and 16 GB of RAM make it suitable for a wide range of tasks, complemented by an IPS screen with good color coverage, making it a solid choice for general use; however, it is somewhat less portable due to its weight and offers moderate battery life. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 features a high-performance Intel i9 CPU and Nvidia RTX graphics, superb screen quality with higher color accuracy and contrast, and better keyboard quality, making it an excellent option for demanding applications, but this comes at the cost of reduced portability and similar battery life as the G15.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G15 and the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 compare to other laptops
"The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a successful high-performance 15-inch laptop. The Asus ROG Strix impresses with an elaborate design and fast hardware. The latter can unleash its potential well in the large 15-inch case and achieve a decent performance boost compared to the previous generation. Especially the stunning 300 Hz display as well as the RTX 3070 and its generous TDP give gamers their money's worth. Asus didn't neglect seemingly small details, either, such as the keyboard and the maintenance options. The ROG Strix G15 offers a lot of pure performance and excellent workmanship in a 15-inch format, but connectivity leaves something to be desired."
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
