The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is more portable and has a higher refresh rate display which is better for fast-paced gaming, but the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 offers a larger, higher-resolution OLED screen that's superior for professional color work, alongside more storage and RAM for demanding tasks. The ThinkPad has a better battery life and may be more suited for business users due to its build and premium features. Conversely, the ROG Flow has dedicated gaming hardware, making it a better fit if gaming or high performance in a compact form is a priority. The ThinkPad is generally more expensive, but it's also tailored for professional and engineering use with its more expansive screen and robust build, whereas the ASUS is a gaming-oriented hybrid that balances performance with portability. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the clarity and vividness of the display are essential, hence the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 both excel due to their high-resolution screens and brightness, providing sharp and bright visuals. Engineering and design require precise color representation; thus, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 stands out with a wider color gamut covering more DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which ensures more accurate color work than the ASUS. However, for gaming and 3D where fast-paced visuals are crucial, both laptops fall short as they lack high refresh rates, which is key for smooth motion and gameplay, although they do offer decent resolution and panel quality.

How the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
